Bavarian Economic Representations

Bavaria Worldwide - Since the mid-1990s, the Free State of Bavaria has established a global network of Bavarian trade and investment representative offices abroad.

Contacts all over the world

The multiple geopolitical and geoeconomic challenges of our time require Bavaria’s economy to intensify its international business efforts and, in particular, to maintain a broad international presence. Against this backdrop, the Bavarian economic representations abroad play a key role in supporting Bavarian companies as they enter and expand in international markets, while also promoting Bavaria as a business location and facilitating the establishment of foreign companies in Bavaria.

The selection of office locations has been, and continues to be, based primarily on the respective economic cooperation potential. Most of the economic representations are operated by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. They are linked to the Ministry through different organizational arrangements, in many cases via the respective German Chambers of Commerce Abroad (AHKs). In addition, the Ministry cooperates with the representative offices of the Bavarian State Chancellery. Staffed by German-speaking professionals, the Bavarian economic representations serve as ambassadors and key promoters of Bavaria’s economy abroad. They also act as primary points of contact for businesses and institutions in the host countries that are interested in Bavaria.
